Enhancing Affordable Housing at Betances VI
The Betances Houses in the Bronx’s Mott Haven neighborhood stand as a key initiative by NYCHA under their NextGen program, aiming to rejuvenate existing public housing by inviting new affordable housing developers to create modern, community-focused residences. One notable addition to this revitalization effort is the Betances VI project - a recently completed 15-story residential building brought to life through collaboration among Think! Architects, Lemle & Wolff, Alembic Community Development, and The Bridge.
A Meaningful Development for the Community
Betances VI encompasses 98,000 square feet and features 101 deeply affordable housing units designed to serve low-income families. Notably, 30 of these homes are dedicated to formerly homeless individuals, including veterans, highlighting the project’s dedication to social support and inclusivity.
