Santa Monica Early Childhood Lab School - Santa Monica, CA

Located at the corner of 4th Street and Civic Center Drive in Santa Monica, the 20,000 sq.ft. Santa Monica Early Childhood Lab School is scheduled to open in Summer or Fall 2021. Designed by Carde Ten Architects, the Lab School is a valuable new community aid for early learning in Santa Monica. The project encompasses three buildings: a 2-story Administration Building, a 1-story Infant Toddler Building composed of childcare classrooms and a 1-story Preschool Building with multiple classrooms for preschool children. The project is expected to receive LEED Gold Certification. ECO Cladding provided a concealed fastened approach for the ceramic panel subframing using the Alpha Vci.40 Concealed System. The undercut anchors provided the visual aesthetic that the design team envisioned and the variable bracket depths provided flexibility for the building’s thermal performance.
