The Berrie Expansion at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is a groundbreaking 9-story addition designed to be the first Net Zero-capable laboratory building in New York City.

Developed for the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, the facility includes state-of-the-art wet and dry labs, a vivarium, and a community health forum, supporting Columbia’s 2030 Sustainability Goals. The expansion enhances research capacity while seamlessly integrating with the existing structure, prioritizing both functionality and community engagement. ECO Cladding provided the panel attachment system for TAKTL UHPC in a high-performance rainscreen application, delivering durability and thermal efficiency to this forward-thinking project.
