 Ceramic5 Rainscreen Panels
Preferred Partners:

Material Overview:

Made of natural raw materials, porcelain-grade ceramic rainscreen panels are through-body colored, light-weight, and economical. Pollution-resistant and maintenance-free, porcelain stone ceramic panels, when combined with a fully-engineered substructure system from ECO Cladding, offer an elegant, high-performance rainscreen solution at an exceptional value.

Design Considerations:

Ceramic panels come in a variety of surface finishes with metallic, stone, timber, and solid colors being the most popular.  Because ceramic is an engineered, natural product, ceramic manufacturers can offer a range of variations from panel to panel - often exhibited through very consistent solid colors, as well as panels with great organic variation to mimic natural surfaces. Ceramic panels typically are installed with 2’x4’ nominal panel sizes, but 1’x2’ and 2’x2’ panels are also common sizes.  The smaller the panel, the more costly the attachment Panel Subframing system can be.  Ceramic can be installed in running or stacked bond and in vertical or horizontal layouts, depending upon the design.  Concealed or exposed color-matched clips are the most common, but lap-siding approaches are also available.

Quakertown High School - Quakertown, PA

For this high-performance high school expansion and renovation project, ECO Cladding partnered with The Architectural Studio and Skepton Construction.

Designed with energy-efficient wall design in mind, the new campus is setting a the standard in the Northeast for high-performance building exteriors for K-12 education.

Completed in early 2015, Cladding Corp provided a Ceramic5 rainscreen solution with the PETRA "Mountains" Collection porcelain ceramic panels installed using ECO Cladding's Alpha Hci.20 engineered rainscreen subframing system. Swisspearl's (Eternit Auria C) fiber cement lap siding provides a bold complement to the Ceramic5 panels. The fiber cement siding is supported with ECO Cladding's Alpha Hci.14 System. The Architectural Studio's modern design for the school's facade was installed by CHM Contracting.

Available Systems

Alpha Vci.40 System

Alpha Vci.40 System

Panel Subframing system that offers fixing using concealed, undercut anchors for cement composite, ceramic, stone, HPL and fiber concrete panels. The back of each panel is pre-drilled using undercut drill bit to receive the hanger clip and expanding bolt anchor.

Alpha Hci.13 System

Alpha Hci.13 System

Panel subframing system that offers visible clip attachment used for anchoring ceramic, porcelain stone, or natural stone panels for wall cladding applications. Clips are color-matched to the panels for a discreet, visible-fastened approach. Designed especially for multiple-story construction as a cost-effective and time-saving approach to installation.

Alpha Eci.40 System

Alpha Eci.40 System

Panel Subframing system that offers panel attachment using concealed, undercut anchors for cement composite, ceramic, stone, HPL, and fiber concrete panels using our Alpha E edge-to-edge wall bracket. Large spans can be achieved due to a solid supporting beam recess.
